Melanie Pefinis is a seasoned Producer and Writer with over 25 years in the industry. After a childhood spent as a  performer, she went on to study film, enabling her to understand a production both behind the camera and in front.

Most notably, her capacity for capturing stories in innovative ways is what led her to being chosen as a CPB Fellow ( Corporation for Public Broadcasting) acquiring her Master’s of Arts degree while learning more about storytelling within the PBS umbrella.

Her productions have taken her throughout the world where she has worked with renown international broadcasters such as NHK, BBC, Canal + and others.

She has worked in both film and broadcast video, managing crews on location in Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Great Britain, Japan, Central America, France, Italy and for several years, Portugal where she worked on various projects with RTP Portugal.

One of her films was chosen to be shown at EXPO ’98 (The World’s Fair) in Lisbon. She also narrated this film as she does many of her productions.

She has worked on three PBS documentary series that were chosen to air on the national feed. One was selected as a “Must Watch” by US Magazine.
